Equality and Diversity
Discrimination in employment denies opportunities to individuals who through prejudice can suffer victimisation and/or harassment. Aside from the harm and distress suffered by the victim, such behaviour, whether intended or not, can ultimately undermine an organisations credibility, performance and productivity.
The absence of effective policies and/or procedures, or the presence of a cultural undercurrent can prevent any organisation from sharing in the potential benefits that an informed and aligned workforce can help provide. This includes a happier environment, increased motivation, lower staff turnover and access to wider markets that an inclusive approach and effective policies can bring.
This course encourages cultural change by challenging attitudes without being threatening, judgmental or confrontational. It raises awareness of equality and diversity issues in a way that will help to support the mainstreaming of equal opportunities and diversity in policies, practices and procedures.
